Moneylogz App · Analytics

Where did the money go?

Pick a stretch of time and Analytics answers it: spending over time, by category, by merchant and by account, what changed since the period before, and which charges recur. Every figure comes from transactions you can open.

What changed, and what keeps charging you

What changed compares the window with the period of the same length before it, by category, merchant or account, largest movement first.

Recurring charges finds merchants that charge a steady amount on a steady rhythm, weekly to yearly, and restates each one per month, with when the next charge is expected.

Everything at one merchant

Click any merchant name in a card and a panel opens with everything you spent there in the window.

  • Money out, the average charge and the typical gap between charges.
  • The previous period, and the change since.
  • Week by week, then the transactions themselves.
  • One link opens them all in Transactions.

A chart, a table or a CSV

Eight more cards cover spending over time, categories, income against expenses, top merchants, where money came from, weekdays, transaction sizes and payment channels. Open any card to read it in full, switch it to a table, or download its rows as a CSV.

  • The filters from Transactions narrow every card at once, so no two cards disagree.
  • By account always says which accounts the figures came from.
  • Currencies are never added together; pick the one to total.

Questions about Analytics

Which periods can I look at?

7 days, 30 days, 90 days, year to date or two years, or any dates you set in the filter bar.

Are pending transactions counted?

Not until they post. A pending pill counts them, and pressing it brings them into the figures.

How is a recurring charge recognised?

Its amount stays within about 10% from one charge to the next, it has appeared at least twice (three times for weekly or fortnightly charges), and at least one charge falls inside the window. Choose 90d to catch monthly charges a short range would miss.
